Whippets are medium-sized, slim, gentle dogs known for being affectionate and calm at home yet capable of extraordinary bursts of speed, making them ideal for owners who enjoy both relaxed companionship and regular active time. They tend to be friendly with people and children when well socialised, but their high prey drive means they may chase small pets, so secure outdoor space and careful introductions are important. Their short coat is low-maintenance but they are sensitive to cold and benefit from a warm layer in winter. Potential owners should plan for daily exercise, safe off-lead running and routine grooming. Take a look at Whippet pets currently available.
