The Chinese Crested is a small, affectionate companion dog known for its lively, alert nature and close bond with owners. Often playful and good with families, it can also be reserved with strangers and benefits from calm early socialisation. As a toy-sized breed its exercise needs are moderate — short walks and indoor play usually suffice — and it adapts well to flat or house living provided it gets daily interaction. Prospective owners should consider coat type (hairless or powderpuff), skin and dental care, sensitivity to cold and sun, and regular grooming or moisturising routines.
