Elegant and affectionate, the Borzoi is a large, long-legged sighthound known for a calm, dignified temperament at home and bursts of high-speed enthusiasm on the gallop. They are gentle with family but can be reserved with strangers and have a strong prey drive, so secure off-lead exercise is important. Prospective owners should consider their need for regular long walks and safe space to run, routine grooming for the silky coat, and sensible health checks for breed-related issues. Borzoi suit people who can offer patient, consistent training and a tolerant household rather than constant activity.
