The American Curl is a medium-sized, affectionate cat known for its distinctive curled-back ears, gentle temperament and playful but not overly energetic nature. They tend to bond with family members, get on well with children and other pets, and enjoy interactive play and climbing, so access to a cat tree is appreciated. Prospective owners should consider routine ear checks and regular grooming, especially for long-haired lines, and be prepared to spend time on daily play rather than vigorous exercise. These adaptable cats suit both homes with limited space and larger houses, but always benefit from environmental enrichment and regular veterinary care; choose a reputable breeder or rescue and check the animal’s health history before adopting.
