The Burmese is a compact, muscular, medium-sized cat known for its affectionate, sociable nature and lively curiosity. They enjoy human company, often seek out laps and interaction, and respond well to play and puzzle toys; many are vocal without being overly demanding. Their short coat is low-maintenance, but they benefit from regular dental and general health checks. Prospective owners should consider that Burmese thrive on companionship and mental stimulation, so they do best where someone is around much of the day or with another pet; they're adaptable to flats if given vertical space and interactive play. If you can offer attention and routine care, a Burmese makes a warm, engaging companion.
