The Sloughi is a graceful, medium-to-large North African sighthound known for a calm, affectionate nature with family, paired with independence and a reserved attitude towards strangers. Lean and athletic, Sloughis need regular opportunity for high-speed exercise and mental stimulation but are often calm indoors, making them suited to owners who can provide secure space and daily runs. Potential adopters should consider secure fencing because of strong prey drive, consistent but gentle training, and socialisation from an early age; grooming is minimal but routine health checks and appropriate feeding are important.
