The Huntaway is a large, muscular working dog from New Zealand, known for its intelligence, bold and loyal nature and high energy levels. Typically friendly with family when properly socialised, Huntaways are alert and can be quite vocal, thriving on purposeful activity rather than long spells of idleness. Prospective owners should consider their need for plenty of exercise, mental stimulation and secure outdoor space, plus consistent training and routine health checks; grooming is generally straightforward thanks to a short coat. They suit active households or farms more than sedentary flats. If a lively, hardworking companion sounds right for you, view the Huntaway pets currently available.
