The Egyptian Mau is a medium-sized, naturally spotted cat known for its lively, intelligent and affectionate nature; many owners find them playful, curious and quick on their feet, yet often a little reserved with strangers. They suit active households that can provide daily interactive play and space to sprint or climb, plus vertical territory such as cat trees. When buying or adopting, consider their need for mental stimulation, regular grooming for a short coat, routine veterinary care and quiet spots to retreat to; they can form strong bonds so companionship matters. Seek reputable breeders or shelters, check health records and be prepared for long-term commitment and sensible insurance.
