The Arabian Mau is a sturdy, medium-to-large natural cat known for its athletic build, short coat and alert, intelligent demeanour; typically affectionate with family yet independent, it enjoys play, climbing and gentle exploration rather than laps-only cuddles. Prospective owners should consider its energy and curiosity: this breed benefits from vertical space, interactive toys and regular play sessions to stay happy and avoid boredom. Grooming needs are minimal, but sensible lifelong care — vaccinations, neutering, microchipping and routine vet checks — remains important. If adopting, look for a cat that has been socialised and bear in mind local rules about outdoor access and secure gardens to keep an Arabian Mau safe and content.
