The Lagotto Romagnolo is a medium-sized, intelligent and affectionate dog with a lively yet steady temperament, known for its curly, water-resistant coat and keen nose from its truffle-hunting roots. They are active and trainable, enjoying daily walks, scent games and mental challenges rather than constant high-intensity exercise, and they usually bond closely with their family. Prospective owners should consider regular grooming and ear care, consistent training and enough stimulation to prevent boredom; they adapt to flats if given sufficient exercise but will thrive with access to outdoor space.
