Compact and muscular, the Jagdterrier is a small-to-medium hunt terrier known for its bold, tenacious temperament and keen intelligence. Typically lively and high-energy, they thrive on physical exercise and scent-based work, responding well to firm, consistent training but often showing independent streaks. Suited to experienced owners who can provide daily activity, secure garden access and early socialisation, they are not ideal for households with small furries unless supervised. Grooming is straightforward but they need routine health checks, mental stimulation and clear boundaries.
